March 31, 2010

Thank you for tracking with WeightChart. Today we've released Our Results, an exciting report which shows our members have been doing a great job in tracking their way to wellness. The average WeightChart member has lost 11 pounds! People tracking six months or more have lost on average 17 pounds! We've heard from many people about the positive role the simple act of tracking has played in creating a mindset for making healthy choices. Keep up the good work!

Thank you for tracking with WeightChart. As we move from the first of the year we see a troubling, yet not surprising trend - people are having a hard time keeping their resolutions alive. We're responding with two features to help combat this trend.

  • Quick Entry - If you choose to receive Quick Entries (visit the Preferences page) we'll send you periodic emails with a Quick Entry link. You can use this link to log your wellness without needing to log in, or visit the main site. The Quick Entry pages are also formatted to be friendly for small, mobile browsers, making it easy to track your wellness on the go with your iPhone, Android, Palm, or Blackberry device. We hope you like it!
  • My Reasons to Succeed - Take a moment to write down your reasons for wanting to get in shape, we'll add these to your reminder emails to give you a motivational boost.

We've also added a great feature to our nutrition section: The Top 100 Nutrient index. This is a great way to discover what foods are the highest or lowest in a particular nutrient, like fat, salt, sugar, or fiber. You can also get the top 100 for different categories of foods like Fast Food, Baby Foods, Snacks, and Beverages. We hope this information will help you make healthy and informed diet decisions.

Thank you for being a WeightChart.com user. Growth charts have received the most attention for this push. Growth charts are geared towards tracking for infants and children, they allow tracking of metrics associated with development.

  • Trackables and Indicators are now part of the Growth chart service.
  • Growth charts now can display Trackables and Indicators. (See the post below for what we think of Trackables.)
  • Sign up for new members is now tailored to Weight or Growth charts. This means fewer steps for everyone when going through the 'Welcome Wizard' - that thing that asks you for your unit of measurement preference etc...

Thank you for being a WeightChart.com user. Today we've rolled out a really nice batch of changes for you.

  • Trackables™
    • Trackables have been moved from Preferences to the main page because as of now...
    • You can chart them! It's our new favorite feature (sorry Photo Timeline) to be able to see things like hours of sleep, and glasses of water in line with weight and feeling indicators. What a great way to detect patterns and the relationship between different wellness factors.
    • Once you've filled in a few Trackable entries (from your normal Enter Weight form) have a click on Options to see this information on your chart.
  • Who is 'username3882'?
    • Let others see your real name instead of your login name. For the Chart Sharing and Together pages if you've provided your real name that's what shows up for others to see.
  • Improved Help
    • We've upgraded the ? help popups to provide more information in a clearer way. If you think we should add to or improve the help on our site send us a message at info@WeightChart.com.

Thank you for being a WeightChart.com user. Today we've rolled out some changes to our Together services and changes to make pages faster.

  • Together Services
    • Now Together groups with lots of members (like over 100) are possible. Before this change things were a little too sluggish for our large groups.
    • The Together summary, below the chart, is now the place to go to add/remove people from the chart.
    • We've added a last entry date column to the summary, it's handy to sort by to see who's made recent changes.
  • Performance Tuning
    • As we increase the capabilities of WeightChart the effort of doing more can begin to slow things down. In this release we've optimized many pages to load and run faster, in some cases it's a dramatic change. We hope you've never thought about performance on WeightChart, improvements like this are made so you won't.
